Vikendi 2.0 is here and it’s actually pretty fantastic compared to the original one. There are many new features in the pubg snow map we’ll uncover in this in-depth guide.

The new PUBG Vikendi map is packed with new features such as airdrop loot all over the place, comeback arenas, cable cars, bear caves, secret rooms, lab camps, and bears! Let’s dive deep into the new Vikendi Reborn map and find out secrets that we can use to our advantage on the battlegrounds.
Vikendi Reborn map guide
This Vikendi map guide with markings is the TLDR version of the article, but if you want to dive deeper and learn tricks and tips regarding the new secret rooms, airdrops, cave systems, and lab camps stick around!
Bear caves
As an addition to the PUBG patch 22.1, the three bear caves on the new Vikendi map now host a ton of loot, including 15x scopes, full level 3 gear, and crate weapons such as the AWM and P90. If you want to get your hands on all these goodies, you will have to go through a bunch of NPC polar bears. Yup, you heard right, NPC BEARS are now a thing in PUBG.
How to defeat these pesky bears you might ask? Well, a couple of AKM or M416 clips will do the trick if you shoot it close range in the head. Also, the DBS is quite effective at taking these beasts down. There are about 3 bears for each cave so be prepared. If you’re solo, get yourself a vehicle, one hit from the bear takes about 60% of your HP, so two hits and you’re KO! If you are inside a vehicle, the bears will attack and damage it pretty badly. For instance, it will destroy your tyres. A full squad could easily take these 3 bears, with no problems.
It’s not the bears you should be afraid of, these new bear caves are a tourist attraction like never before, so be prepared to encounter half of the map in these areas.
Your best bet is to look somewhere close to these caves and equip some decent loot, then attack the bears and steal their loot. Make sure you equip the polar bear feet as a trophy.
Secret rooms locations
There are 10 secret rooms scattered across the new Vikendi Reborn map. In order to enter these facilities, you’ll need to acquire a Security Key, which can be found in random locations across the map (similar to Taego and Deston). The secret rooms, which are actually sort of underground compounds, can easily be distinguished on the map thanks to their tank shape.
As for what’s inside, actually, there isn’t what you would expect… No airdrop loot in these underground compounds, only usual weapons types like shotguns, assault rifles, sniper rifles, and DMRs. Apart from weapons, you will also find some interesting gear such as level 3 vest, level 2 helmet, smoke pistol (M79), boosters, throwables, and health kits. Oh and a frying pan, of course.
Sometimes, if you’re lucky enough, there’s even a snowmobile present in the secret underground compounds at the very far left end of the room.
There are other key elements added to the PUBG winter map that are worth mentioning. PUBG really went all-out on this version of the map with a lot of methods to get your hands on top-tier loot.
Lab camps
There are 4 lab camps spread across the icy river that cuts the new Vikendi Reborn map in half on the far northwest corner. These research facilities are packed with airdrop-grade loot which can be found in the coloured boxes showcased above.
Be careful though, if you loot any item from one of these crates, a loud and persistent alarm will go off, alerting nearby players and letting them know you’re prowling about in the lab camp premises.
It’s super easy to get caught off-guard while looting, especially if someone comes with a vehicle with the engine cut off, or even on foot so be weary when looting.
Multi airdrop
Another new addition to the Vikendi 2022 map is the new multi-airdrop, meaning, each circle of the airdrop will be accompanied by 9 additional smaller crates, exactly like on Taego.
Loot like crate weapons, medkits, ghillie suits, and high-rage scopes can be found in smaller crates, while the big crate contains what you would expect, a crate weapon, full level-3 gear, and other accessories.
Repair kits
PUBG update 21.2 brought something quite useful if you have the spare space for it. There are 3 distinct repair kits designed to perform a quick fix on some of your items:
- Armor Repair Kit – Repairs 100% of your damaged armour, no matter the level. Has a capacity of 10.
*As long as the item is not completely destroyed. - Helmet Repair Kit – Repairs 100% of your damaged helmet, no matter the level. Also has a capacity of 10.
*As long as the item is not completely destroyed. - Mechanic’s Toolbox – Repairs 50% of your damaged vehicle (if it’s not exploded that is) but cannot repair exploded tyres, unfortunately. Has a slightly higher capacity of 15.
These repair kits are pretty useful in combat and pretty light in capacity, each being around a stun grenade in terms of weight. You can always squeeze a few in your Zima if your backpack can’t handle them.
Blizzard Zone
The hurricane storm on Vikendi Reborn, or the Blizzard Zone as it’s officially called, works somehow similar to how the red zone plays out on Erangel and Miramar. It will randomly appear on the map and move slowly around while impairing your vision (sights, vehicle windshield, you basically can’t see more than 3 meters ahead), sound (it’s really loud, you cannot hear footsteps or nearby players), and cherry on top it will give you constant damage while you’re trapped inside the eye of the storm.
You would expect that being in a building will not affect your HP while inside the storm but it does. The damage is exactly how the blue zone affects you so try not to get caught in a combination of being in the blue zone and a hurricane storm at the same time.
Crowbar mechanics
Until now, all melee weapons were kind of obsolete, except for the frying pan of course which can deflect bullets if shot in the back. The sole purposes of the crowbar, machete and sickle were to throw them at enemies in a hot drop if you didn’t loot a weapon yet. Or throw them at your teammates for comedic purposes.
In Vikendi’s 2022 update, things have changed, at least for the crowbar. You can now pry open locked doors in specific buildings across the map where you couldn’t normally get in.
You really need a crowbar in your squad as a lot of times you will find yourself in a situation where access to these locked buildings would have tipped in your favour if for a crowbar.
These special crowbar buildings also hold locked red cabinets full of heal and throwables which are a must in the second half of any match, be sure to open them and treat yourself.
Seek the crowbar and keep it on you at all times. Gordon Freeman would be proud of you!

Cable cars
The new cable cars can be found across the map on mountain terrains. They lead you downhill, sometimes they even leap from one mountain to another. While in the cable car, the movement is surprisingly smooth and accurate without any lag or bugs. You can even bring in a full-size car onto the… car.
There are also a number of Panzerfaust (bazooka) items within the cars so you can RPG enemies below. For some reason though, these cable car spots seem to be a hot area. It attracts players like honey attracts the bear (more on that later). A good stealthy technique is to drop on top of the cable car hub roofs and wait for incoming enemies. They will never see you coming.
Locations for these cable cars are marked on the map with dotted red lines, you can’t miss them.
Comeback arena
Vikendi Reborn is the second PUBG map to feature a comeback arena, the first being Taego. This time around, the gulag has 3 stages that are spread throughout the first part of the match, which doesn’t keep you waiting 7 minutes if you die right at the beginning like on Taego.
The new comeback arena map is clearly more open, without many hiding, cover, or camping areas. Developers made this on purpose to push players out of their comfort zone and get them to fight one another.
Another cool feature with the new Vikendi comeback arena is that there are multi airdrops with more powerful loot such as ARs, DMRs, level 2 helmets and armour, first aid kits and other useful things that you wouldn’t normally find in the comeback zone.
The comeback arena on Vikendi is available only for duos and squads. For a player to enter one of the 3 stages, at least one teammate needs to stay alive at all times either outside of the comeback arena or on the battlegrounds.
Thoughts on Vikendi Reborn
Make sure you put all of this varied loot in the trunk of the Zimma vehicle, currently the only vehicle on Vikendi Reborn which has a trunk space. Why? Maybe because you can physically reach the trunk from the back seats in theory…
The new additions make the game super dynamic and unique in each match. Having a 3-round comeback arena, all the premium loot you can handle, and other features mentioned in this article, show the full potential of a PUBG map.
If it were for me, I would have all of these features on ALL maps. Make it more interesting, diverse, and unique.
