A new monster-hunting game is coming out from Koei Tecmo, and apparently, even the developers are finding some parts too tricky.

Monster Hunter is a successful series of games that puts you in the shoes of an adventurer trying to make their monster-infested world safer. Now, Koei Tecmo is trying to offer some real competition with their new title, Wild Hearts. The game takes place in a feudal japan inspired world called Azuma. Azuma has a severe problem with roaming monsters, and it’s up to you to fix it.

Surprisingly, even the developers from Koei Tecmo’s Omega Team are struggling with certain fights in the game. This mostly has to do with the combat system, which is more akin to the Dark Souls series of games. Apparently, some of the late-game monsters (called Kemono in this game) are putting the hurt on people. Going unprepared for a fight will generally be a death sentence. But this is a pretty usual experience for this type of game, where preparation and tactics are sometimes just as important as your combat prowess.

Developers have already stated that Wild Hearts will feature full crossplay, allowing you to play with your friends no matter your choice of platform. Wild Hearts will be coming out for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Microsoft Windows on February 16, 2023. So if you’re itching to take down horrid beasts with powerful weapons, Wild Hearts has got you covered for the foreseeable future.
